Four Corners (Print)

As a photographer, I often spend most of my time working on composition. Here, at Las Cuatros Esquinas (The Four Corners) in Tuscan, Arizona, USA, I set up the image to be framed between symmetrical lines formed not just by the building's corners, but also by the intersecting utility lines that criss-cross overhead. I then focused on getting a fast enough shutter speed to capture the like-for-like symmetry of the shadows of the utility lines cast on the tarmac below. This scene was two parts skill and one part luck, but this felt to me like I had painted with a camera lens.
